December 9-Peace

I just finished reading a news post about the destruction in Haiti because of the presidential election. When I see Haiti in such an upheaval, being destroyed by tire burning, rock throwing and killing each other, it is most difficult to think of Christmas holidays. What a contrast!!

Isn't that the contrast—light versus the darkness. There is so much darkness all around. We are the only light the world sees. Let's shine that light this Christmas season.

I've been trying to remember how we celebrated last year. I cannot remember it, except I think we had a dinner for the first time in our newly painted dining room with a new (for us, but used and beautiful that Patrick had found downtown) table and chairs for the dining room. But only a few short weeks after that it was all destroyed in the quake.

Peace, yes that is the gift for tonight. Peace. When all around us there is unrest, we have Peace! Thank you Lord

God bless you
